First Pileup has been worked successfully… But unfortunately nobody seems to accept the mode of working, so I had to change my mode. Well from now on I will try to listen for example 10 down in case of a Pileup.

WX is with felt 40 degrees centigrade with light wind and a sea-temperature of abt. 28 degrees. Lightly cloudy in the first two days but now sunshine as far as you can see….

Try to work a few more stations at the weekend especially on 20m (14.222) from 1600 UTC.

Unfortunately Munich has no free Wlan, so now the first message from Dubai.

Proceeded security xray with no problems HI
In Munich they made a TNT and drug test with the transceiver, but in Dubai hm nothing. The guy behind the xray machine seemed to be a little tired…

Well now here waiting for connection flight to Male, which departes at 3:25 local time. We have to wait now for 2 hours till boarding begins.

Emirates is really cool: Every seat has it’s own monitor, telephone, movies, games and even SMS or Mail would be available (of course to pay ) The meal was great too.

Eyes get a little tired now and we try to relax a bit. CU!

G5RV Antenna Testing

Today I urgently had to test the G5RV antenna with my FT-897 @ 100W output. I had to find out, if it is a good idea to take this antenna with me to 8Q Maldives in the End of May…

Well, I guess it was quite good, and I`m confident to have some DX contacts from 8Q too, especially the sea will help me in propagation. Unfortunately there were no QSO`s with outside Europe stations today. Also the mounting situation was not the best – the ends of the antenna were only about 2 meters from the ground. Maldives will probably be better with some high palms – I hope!
