SOTA OE/SB-202 Schrambachkopf

Not knowing where to go – not knowing if the summit over there has a SOTA Reference Number 🙂 This was the start of a very spontanious SOTA Activation by OE2WNL and OE2WNP …

… in the middle of the skiing area of Zell am See near Schmittenhöhe (which is a SOTA by the way)

After a walk of 40min from where we left the cable-car – I took my iPhone and the Augmented Reality Browser Wikitude to look if the summit ahead of us is a SOTA-Summit. In fact it was OE/SB-202 Schrambachkopf. At the summit there was an old rotten tree which acts as my mast-supporter – thanks for that. 🙂

Working conditions were my FT-857D, Glass-Fibre-Mast and W3DZZ. Due to this setup even some people passing by were asking what I’m doing here – which happens not that often – so I explained and told them about my(our) Hobby.

Conditions on HF where really really nice – so I was able to work 34 Stations with 15Watts,  from 12:00 – 12:30 which makes ~ 1 QSO/min – cool 🙂

Thanks to OE2WNP who wrote my log while I was on the mic!

This are all Stations I’ve worked:
9A5AMC, 9A7W, DC1NHS, DC4BWS, DK4RM, DL0EUR, DL3HXX, DL6ER, DL8DXL, DL8YR, F5LMK, F6FTB, G0RQL, G4OBK, G6TUH, HA5CW, HA5TI, HA7UG, HB9AGH, HB9BIN, HB9CEX, HB9DAX, IK1GPG, IZ5IOH, M0BKV, OE1RSW, OK1SDE, ON7KJW, PD1CW, S51JS, S52ON, SM7HVQ, YT1UM, YU3MMM

ODX was M0BKV – 1314km

Thank you all for QSO and 73

OE2WNL & OE2WNP
